Elements of the New Volcano Bay Water Park
This new 28 acre Universal Orlando water park has something for everyone. Perhaps the centerpiece of the park will be Krakatau™ – a 200 foot tall volcano with beautiful waterfalls. Krakatau also will illuminate in the evening hours ablaze with white hot lava.
Vacation Rentals Near Volcano Bay
In the vicinity of Krakatau will be 3 twisted slides. This includes a body plunge slide (Ko’okiri) and 2 sister serpentine body slides (Kala and Ta Nui). Ko’okiri plunges roughly 120 feet through the center of Krakatau. Sisters Kala and Ta Nui slither through the park with a frefall of over 120 feet.
The Punga high speed racers are also in the vicinity of Krakatau. These will be single mat sliders on a 4 lane track.
The Villages of Volcano Bay
Within the park, there are 3 villages with different experiences in mind for parkgoers. These separate park areas include leisure, family friendly amenities and even one for more adrenaline seekers.
The village area for sand, sun and relaxation is called Wave Village. The featured area within Wave Village is called Waturi Beach. This pod includes a wave pool and private cabanas. The Reef at Waturi Beach is a calmer water area with a leisure lagoon pool.
The family friendly village within Volcano Bay is called River Village. River Village features reefs and winding rivers suitable for nesting and family interaction. These include the Kopiko Wai River, Tot Tiki Reef, Runamukka Reef and Honu Ika Moana multi passenger raft rides.
Rainforest Village is the final new piece of Volcano Bay. There are 5 relatively aggressive raft rides for thrill riders and a relaxation lagoon in this proximity of the park. The drop slides within Rainforest Village are named Ohyah and Ohno. The Maku Puihi raft ride and TeAwa Whitewater River are clearly not for the faint of heart. Finally, there are 4 tube rides that meander and serpentine through the Rainforest Village.
