If you are planning a trip to Orlando, it pays to plan in advance for purchasing Universal Orlando tickets. Impulsive last minute walk up ticket buyers will now pay roughly a $10 per person premium on these single day passes. Purchasing tickets in advance, during lower seasonal periods of the year and possibly online are the simplest ways to get additional Universal Orlando ticket discounts.
This is in line with most of the other theme parks are doing and what is now called demand based pricing for park tickets. Essentially park guests will pay the highest prices for tickets during the summer months. This includes the month of June thru most of August for tickets in the highest demand periods. Planning in advance (and booking online) rather than walking up to the ticket counter has always generally been preferable. In Universal Orlando’s case, an impulsive decision to attend the park has never been more expensive.
For planning Orlando park visits during value periods, the Theme Park Insider blog recommends weekdays during most of the “school” year. This is of course excluding holiday weeks including Christmas. Many weekends and summer week days are considered regular periods while holidays and summer weekends are construed as peak times according to the TPI blog. As with Universal and other area parks, the peak periods will cost the most for you and your family to visit these attractions.
Although prices will be going up for Universal Orlando tickets as we’ve mentioned, there will be some new and improved things to enjoy at the park in 2016/2017. These include Skull Island: The Reign of Kong and the enhanced Hulk Coaster. New attractions for Universal Orlando in 2017 include Jimmy Fallon’s “Race Through New York” and the Fast & Furious Supercharged ride.
So if you are ready to visit the Central Florida attractions, plan early and at a minimum get those Universal Orlando tickets online and well in advance for best pricing.
