There is fun to be had at the Corona Cigar Company.
If you’re thinking about your list of “must do’s” for your next trip to Orlando, be sure to include a visit to the Corona Cigar Company & Drew Estate Lounge. Here is our review.
Conveniently located at 7792 W. Sand Lake Rd, it’s plenty close to all of the theme parks, golf courses, and the convention center area. Corona is also located near some of the top vacation home communities. These include Vista Cay and the luxurious condos at the Isles at Cay Commons.
Even if you’re not an avid cigar smoker, or if you’ve never had the pleasure, I highly recommend adding an evening at Corona to your itinerary!
A few days ago while visiting with out of town friends, our group stopped in one Friday evening to check it out. We found out quickly this was much more than a cigar store. This was certainly an experience that all could enjoy.
While I had smoked a few cigars in my life, I was still very much a novice. No doubt about that. I immediately found the staff however to be really friendly and helpful. There are no “cigar snobs” here. They clearly have a passion for what they do and want to share it with others … enthusiasts and newcomers alike.
Service
Within minutes we were assisted by a staff member who informed us to take our time perusing the aisles to pick out a cigar. Ask any questions you need. That night
When making our purchases, the same staff member expertly “cut” our cigars for us and even fired them up with a torch lighter. The fun was just starting. We were then invited to take a seat in the lounge where the hostess and bartender helped us to “pair” our selections with the right drink choice. I would have never guessed a port wine would be a good match with a cigar, but the port they suggested was perfect.
After our drinks in the lounge there was still plenty of cigar left to smoke, so we decided to head out to enjoy the rest of the evening on the patio. I can honestly say, there’s no better way to relax than with a good cigar, drinks, and great friends. We had so much fun we went back the next night.
Since that trip, I’ve stayed in touch with the company by visiting their website at www.CoronaCigar.com and subscribing to the Corona Cigar Company e-newsletter. Soon after that, I was gifted a really nice humidor and now I enjoy keeping it stocked. I’ve found there’s no greater pleasure than breaking out some fine cigars amongst friends, especially on special occasions.
Locations
According to the Corona Cigar Company website, the store at Sand Lake – Dr. Phillips is over 5,000 square feet of humidified space and stocks over 2 million cigars to choose from! They also host special events that feature the best cigar makers, and even hold fundraisers to help those in need such as co-hosting events with the Shriners.
There’s another Corona Cigar Company location in downtown Orlando which also features a huge selection of the finest cigars, and the Diamond Crown Lounge. Or a little further north, there’s the Lake Mary-Heathrow store which houses the Montecristo Lounge.
And if you make it over to Tampa, be sure to plan an evening out at Davidoff of Geneva. Davidoff of Geneva is a luxurious cigar store and lounge that is a joint venture between the owners of Corona Cigar Co. and Davidoff. This is definitely on my “must do” list!
