One Night Only! B-52s Orlando Concert Set to Transform House of Blues to the Love Shack!
If you’re going to be in town and like the sound of unwinding to some classic party music, this is the concert for you! The B-52’s are scheduled to roll into town on August 19th for a set at Orlando’s House of Blues in Disney Springs.
The iconic rock band, which has been writing and performing their own one-of-a-kind style of music since the ’70s, is still going strong. Perhaps best known for their smash hits Love Shack and Roam which were both released on the Cosmic Thing CD in 1989, the group has been rocking hard since their song Rock Lobster hit in 1979.
“Bedrock” fans may remember the “BC-52’s” as “the planet’s only rock band” as they rocked out their version of “The Flintstones” in the 1994 motion picture which starred Halle Berry and John Goodman, and of course the B-52’s video.
SH-Booms Orlando
The SH-Booms are slated as the opening group. Doors are set to open at 7:00 p.m. We suggest ordering tickets early for this one, as the venue is sure to be packed. Tickets may be purchased online at LiveNation.com
What’s great about attending a House of Blues concert is you don’t have to go elsewhere for dinner! Make reservations first and then prepare to indulge in all of the Southern-inspired house favorites such as Voodoo Shrimp and Carolina Mess. Also on the menu is jambalaya, gumbo, shrimp and grits, and a full array of burgers, sandwiches, and salads.
If barbeque is your thing, the House of Blues Smokehouse serves up mouthwatering helpings of Carolina pulled-pork and Memphis-style baby back ribs! Try that with a cold one or a sweet tea!
You may even wish to make it a “double feature” by first taking in the Gospel Brunch at House of Blues, which takes place every Sunday at 10:30 a.m. and 1:00 p.m. and features an all-you-can-eat buffet that is to die for. Breakfast features the HOB’s signature chicken and waffles and other favorites, while lunch includes a carving station, Southern specialties, and of course save room for dessert!
Music for your enjoyment during the Gospel Brunch is provided by some of Orlando’s best local artists who will entertain you with both traditional and contemporary gospel music.
