According to Central Florida Channel 13 News, rumors abound that at an all employee meeting for SeaWorld ® and the related parks (including Aquatica, Discovery Cove, Busch Gardens and several others) the sale of the parks division will be announced.
As of 4.00 PM today these rumors appear to be unfounded. Senior officials with the company refused to address speculation.
It does appear that if such a sale does go through, it could have a very positive effect on Orlando if the new rumored owner ends up being The Blackstone Group, a private equity group that already owns half of Universal Studios ®.
The synergies of such a deal between such major parks could be very exciting and offer great benefits for visitors to the Orlando area.
The closest Orlando vacation rentals to Sea World and Universal Studios tend to be Vista Cay and Isles at Cay Commons.
